New Single "Rolling Stoned (Winter Version)" out now

Springsteen said that you gotta celebrate all the victories, no matter how small. Every time a new song comes out, I party, at least just a little. Probably gonna shotgun some beers with Nics tonight if I can catch her between breast milk pumping sessions. Ah, the life of an aging rocker.

But for real, when a song is birthed out into the world, I think about all the people who helped it along the way. Most artistic endeavors are the result of collaboration - the intention being to elevate the end product to levels that a single person could never attain. Couldn't be more true with this one - thank you @1800flowerman for the production and mixing, @the_gradwell_house for the mastering, The Knights of Saybrook for helping to create the original version (@gseltz , @andyseltzer, Matt Cascella), @outer_light_productions for being willing to film me jump in freezing water, and @nicolecirilli for being the inspiration (and album cover photography).

New Song "Safe on the Run" out now

The new song “Safe on the Run”, a quarantine collab with Dumlords, is out now!

Some words about the song:

We wrote "Safe on the Run" to be a twangy indie rocker song that plays like a dusty noir novel. I've always been drawn to antihero ballads, so when collaborator Tyler (Dumlords) suggested we consider going down that path lyrically, I was all about it. Immediately, the sonic ideas started flowing in: canyon reverbs, retro crooner harmonies. The idea was to make a song that would sound its best while driving in a Cadillac speeding through the desert at 90 mph.

Tyler and I, although we both came up in the New Haven, CT hardcore/indie scene, had never collaborated together before. But after the pandemic hit, our continued online presence made it obvious to each of us that we were hard workers and that a collaboration might be awesome. Seeing as though we were both completely unaccepting of the idea that the pandemic would keep us from creating music, we got to work writing and recording over Zoom.

Influenced by the heavy state of the world around us, we set out to create a song that told the story a good person who made some bad decisions and, despite the false sense of security that a life on the move can afford, would eventually need to show up at "the gate" with all his defects in plain sight.
